Don't break the chain is a planning rule, not a personality type. The day you do the work, the streak survives. The day you do not, it stops. People often picture that rule as a wall calendar and a mark for each finished day. REGIME is a habit tracker with streaks built on the same idea, with one difference that matters: the chain belongs to the whole checklist, not to a pile of separate habits.

Complete the daily non-negotiables and the streak grows. Miss a day and the streak resets. You can start again today. The app does not offer a skip, a pause, or a partial day that still counts. That strictness is the product. If you want the longer argument, it is on why a hard streak.

One chain, not twenty little ones

A lot of streak trackers give every habit its own number. Walk has a streak. Reading has a streak. Water has a streak. You can fail the day and still protect three out of four numbers. That feels productive. It also lets the real goal, a finished day, hide behind the lines you already like.

REGIME does the opposite. The Today screen puts the chain up top and lists your orders for the day. Complete every one, or the day does not count. There is a next unfinished habit, so the focus is the next line, not a dashboard of surviving streaks. When the checklist is done, you can share a completed-day milestone. Nothing about that share is a feed you have to post to.

Build a checklist you can repeat

The chain dies from ambition more often than from laziness. A planner with twelve morning tasks is a new system, and new systems get rebuilt every Monday. Use a short list.

  1. Write the non-negotiables on paper first. Three to six lines is enough for most people. A morning routine, one work block, training, and one evening close is a full day if you actually do them.
  2. In the app, choose habits, add your own, and turn off what does not fit. Keep a line only when you will hit it on an ordinary Tuesday.
  3. Put the lines in the order you do them. The checklist is the plan. You should not need a second app to remember what "today" means.
  4. Optional morning and evening reminders are local notifications. Use the morning one to start the routine. Use the evening one to finish anything still open, not to negotiate with yesterday.
  5. Hold the habit to commit it, and only when the work is done. The listing does not describe Apple Health auto-complete. When every non-negotiable is done, the day gets a DAY COMPLETE stamp.
  6. If you miss the day, the streak resets. Do not look for a repair button. Start again today, with the same short list. Changing the list to soothe a miss is how the Monday rebuild starts.

Ranks, the week, and the stamp

Eight ranks sit on top of the streak. You earn them by staying consistent. The progress screen describes the ladder as running from RECRUIT to IMMORTAL. They are not something you buy. The weekly review shows recorded check-ins for the last seven days. If the same line is empty most of the week, that line is too big. Fix the checklist. The DAY COMPLETE stamp is the day's receipt: it shows up only when every non-negotiable was held to commit.

Who should use a softer streak

This rule is a bad fit if you need planned days off and still want the number to climb. REGIME will not schedule a habit for weekdays only to protect the chain. A separate streak per task is a different product, covered on the Streaks app alternative page. Gold, pets, and a party are a game, covered on the Habitica alternative page. A fixed 75-day program is on the 75 Hard tracker page. Category patterns are on REGIME vs soft habit apps.

FAQ

Does each habit have its own streak?
No. REGIME grows one streak when you complete the daily checklist. A missed day resets that streak. It is not a set of separate streaks, one per habit.
Can I pause the chain or skip a day without a reset?
No. A missed day resets the streak, and you can start again today. If you need planned days off inside the streak, this is the wrong rule.
What should go on the checklist?
A short list of non-negotiables you can finish today, such as the morning routine and the training. Turn off anything that does not fit. The next unfinished item is the focus.
What do the ranks mean?
There are eight ranks, earned from consistency. The progress screen describes the ladder as running from RECRUIT to IMMORTAL. Ranks are not something you buy.
Do I need an account?
No. Habit entries stay on your device. There is no REGIME account and no social feed.
